16x08 yamaha mx49

Does anyone know how to set up midi with the tascam 16x08 and the yamaha Mx49 and cubase. I have mx 49 selected in device manager and yamaha mx (us - 16x08 midi) selected on inspector output routing what am i doing wrong or what havent i done
