2488 System Error Code: 01

Hey guys,

I expanded my CD burner and my HDD in order to get Access from outside. I put my HDD in a caddy so I can Change between the harddrives very easy.

But: In the caddy, the 2488 boots normal but when I try to bounce a track the 2488 freeze and it Shows: System error Code 01.
I have to power off the unit. The error cames only when I try to bounce.

Okay... now, when I put my HDD out of ist caddy and plug it to the 2488 without the caddy everything goes well. Bouncing works...

So, what could be the Problem with using a HDD caddy? Could it be the impedance when the 2488 trying to write on the drive?

The cable length!

When you want to use your HDD and your CD burner outside the machine you have to be carefull that the IDE cable isn't that long. Maybe 40cm is ok. And there must be some distance in the cable between the HDD and the CD.

But now I am able to change my drive very easy.
