"ALT" button not working in DM 4800

Hi all. I'm from India. I own a DM4800.

The "ALT" button is not working in DM 4800... Should I open my console or is there a service centre for this product in India.

Did you try spraying some contact fluid from the outside and work it in first?

I've had a couple of layer buttons and my remote button stop responding at different points in time, a quick burst of Deoxit D5 followed by 30 seconds of button mashing (with the machine turned off, of course) was all it took to revive them.

Spraying D5 willy-nilly into a panel opening is asking for trouble- any overspray drips down on the main board or power supply.It may have worked for you,but it's a temporary fix.I have seen too many other problems caused by doing it.Those switches probably cost 50 cents ea.May as well run the diagnostics,verify flaky switches,spend 10 bucks and replace the hinky switches.

Right, I don't think anybody on this board would advise spraying it willy nilly - D5 has pretty comprehensive instructions on the can and I think it goes without saying that one should follow those.
