Auto Punch in/out not setting

I'm having difficulty setting desired in/out marks for AutoPunch. After I used it the first time, the DP24 would not easily re-set to different in/out points. It kept reverting to the previous mark. I checked SD card, did the standard on/off of the machine, deleted unused to no avail.

I've used auto punch for years, so it's not unfamiliarity, unless I've hit a brain lock.

As the resident Village Idiot, I’m not one to say…

But I’m going w/Brain Lock, possibly combined with the DP's notoriously funky/sticky/not-working buttons.
In this scenario, you’re pressing [Set] + [In or Out], naturally expecting to have the In or Out point placed there…
BUT: if either of the two button- operation doesn’t “take”…the set point would appear to have reverted to the previous spot, when in reality you mighta not noticed that it never even changed, though you expected it to when you did the point-setting.

That sounds like something I’d do. But I’m a maroon…that’s my excuse & I’m sticking to it…
