DM3200
Hello,
i am new to this forums and i hope someone can help me. I am a owner of a DM3200 and like many others i have this LCD issue. I already read through this forum about it and i can imaging, that you people are maybe already tired of this topic, but i could not find a clear answer. Maybe someone has experience with this and can tell me how it is. Will this LCD or any others of the cheap LCD from china work?

do i have to replace a resistor for the right contrast? I found a instruction on this side, to extend the ribbon cable should not be a problem.

but its for replacing the LCD on a DM24
Maybe anyone has a instruction for replacing on a DM3200/dm4800?

Thanks
Lukas

From the ad I cannot tell if this is a replacement for the DM screen. Are you sure?
And where does the info about the resistor come from?

Hey Marvel, thank you for your reply.
I am not sure if the screen is right, i read in this threat

http://www.tascamforums.com/threads/dm-3200-screen-on-computer-via-usb.3437/

in a post from "cmaffia" he wrote that "It's highly probable that these screens will work.".
The eBay Link i posted should be the same LCD like the one cmaffia mentioned in his post
(http://www.ebay.com/itm/301228362342?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT)
, but available on German eBay. I was wondering if someone tried using a not official Tascam replacement LCD, like those mentioned.

To you second question, the other link i posted, from hamsterfight.co.uk is an instruction how to replace the LCD in a Tascam DM24 with a cheap Chinese one. Therefor he had to replace a resistor on the PCB for getting the right contrast on the screen. I thought its maybe the same with the dm3200/4800?

cheers Lukas

Hi Lukas, I'm not nearly technical enough, I was just wondering. The most technical guy, as far as I can tell, is @Rockum. Maybe he can shed some light on this.

On the other hand there are real replacements for the screens, which some here have bought and installed. Like this one.

It's expensive and the guy selling them is apparently a jerk. But if you want to go safe.. :)

And then there is of course the 2SeeMy solution.

I use this one, although my original screen is still working fine. I just like the large screen and the fact I don't have to bend over the desk to adjust settings. And when the screen goes bad, I'm ready for it. You can use it with a super cheap VGA monitor.

Thanks for the confidence, but I went the 2seemy route. Don't know anything about these options.

Thank you guys an sorry for my late reply, so i guess it makes most sense to just buy the 2seemy card, when it is available again.

Anyway if anyone tried the cheap China Displyas and could get experiences with it, let us know.

cheers Lukas

@Lukas_S I'm curious. In your last post you said: "so i guess it makes most sense to just buy the 2seemy card, when it is available again." Why is that. Is the card not available at this time?

Yes, thats right, take a look on his 2seemy´s webside, when you go to order you will see: "Out Of Stock: Back in April 2019" .. but its next month so, not so bad ;)

@Lukas_S Interesting. April is just around the corner. As the saying goes: Good things come to those that wait. And, trust me, the card is definitely worth the wait. Best of luck!

@Peter Batah thats true, my doubt is not about the waiting, its more about the 210 bucks. But it could be worse .
