DP 008 import error song protected

Hi All,
Was just given a virtually brand new 008 and am trying to import a converted (audacity, mp3 to wav) file. It shows up in the wav folder and I can play it from there on the pc but when I try to import it I get the "song protected" message. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Check the manual - there are 2 possibilities:
Protecting songs, page 41
Protecting sd-cards, page 32

Thanks for the reply.
SD card is not in the protected position ( I can copy it to the wav folder from the PC with no issues) and since I'm trying to import it as I understand it, it is not a "song" yet so no way to protect it since it won't import, I can't load it.

Ok, I'm not sure then - I don't have that machine to test. If no-one else chimes in, I would try reformatting the card and/or partitions, assuming there's nothing on it you haven't already got archived on the computer. Let us know if you get anywhere.

My apologies.
Pilot error. I didn't realize that it imports as a track not a song and I needed to create a song from the track. Newbies
