I'd like to setup an Apogee DA16x for having more physical output options with my DM4800. I have been using an Apogee AD16x with my DM3200 and 4800 for years with an IF AE/DM option card. I have all my external preamps connected to it and it's stupidly easy to deal with on the console and in pro tools. Any mic amp anywhere on the console I want. PT inputs are also similarly easy.
I have two IF AE/DM cards in the 4800 and the appropriate cables to allow me to connect all 16 channels across the two cards. I'd like to be able to assign sends and outputs in Pro Tools to the 16 outputs on the DA16x. I can assign inputs and route like crazy on the console but I can't figure out how to point any source at the DA16x within the console or in PT?
If I wanted to send 16 channels through the DA16x to an analog mixer from within pro tools how do I set that up on the console? Any advice?
