I am not sure if it is just me. I am having a lot of problems on the 2488, I can lay down tracks that is simple....but the effects are tough. I called Tascam & he helped me to get reverb on, very complicated, yet alone the other effects....took us a good 1/2 hour.

I was better with my old 488 8 track tape hooked up to an external rack Alesis miniverb. I used that non stop. I have done one song onthe 2488. That's it. Like brand new , just sitting.

Is it worth downgrading to a dp01, simple & fast.

Did anyone else have issues w. this & the learning curve (2488)

Thank you in advance, just frustrated. Thanks again.

If you can get by with fewer tracks then I agree.
My old dp02 was a joy to work on. But you are limited to 8 tracks.

It can get a bit labor intensive to set everything up on the 24 and 32 track machines.
Lately I've just cut down on the use of internal effects and I use a small mixing board with effects. I only use the compressor on the tascam unit and do all the reverb and other things on the board. That makes things a lot quicker for me. And to my ears it sounds pretty good.
But I admit that I'm still tweaking my setup on the 32 which I've only been using a couple months.
A totally decent little board for a home studio can be had for less than $100
Not professional by any stretch but adequate for home studio needs.
