He really nails it.

I started recording with tape.
When computer recording came around, I was amazed.
I'm still in awe of the miracle of hard disk multitrack recording.
The tools at my disposal are now vast.
The limitation is me and my skills.

We take it for granted, but this is an age of miracles.
Just a few years ago, none of this was possible.

It's true, the level of technological achievement reached in just the past two decades is jaw-dropping. The downside - being human - we often take things for granted, losing perspective of how things were not so long ago. So a little sobering slap across the face is necessary occasionally.
