hi group. Newbie here. Have a 32sd on its way. Pros/cons on the Footswitch? TIA

I waited too long to get one. Now, I wouldn't want to track without it. Seems built well and has been problem free so far. Oddly... it *does* require a battery. But it's not only useful for punching in and out, but is also good for rewinding and playing as you "practice" a part. This also helps in keeping what would otherwise be high mileage and wear and tear on the most used buttons (play and rewind for me). And, of course, you can assign the button functions from the "Preferences" menu on the DP.

Get it. Well worth it.

I have only used it to turn record on and off. I often hold it in my hand. It keeps my face out of the desk so I can try to be musical and not technical.

I would replace it in a second.

When recording our latest CD I used the pedal for punch in/out ... preferable (to me) than using the automatic punch because I don't have to interrupt the creative process pressing buttons and twiddling knobs. I also don't have to move in relation to my mic (which would be noticeable in the over-dubbed part).
