What's the little red dot on the far left of the time progress bar mean?

That little red marker represents the "In" point.

Cool...thanks for the reply. I haven't done any mix down or mastering yet. Just got the machine. I assume that it defaults to the beginning as an "in marker"
Just now I tried for the first time to begin some panning and added some eq. That went well. Then I wanted to record silence over about 2 minutes of the last part of the song I had (cause it sucked) and about 1 minute in I got "file errer". The machine wouldn't respond to any command so I unplugged and now reformatting my SanDisk Extreme 32 gig sd card. Any ideas what happened?
