System check..fail error

I'm trying to fix my 788 which comes up with SYSTEM CHECK..FAIL!! error. Firmware ver 1.06 It's not a Hard Drive problem, more likely firmware or something else - tried more than one different HDD's, but still the same error. Has anyone got the latest 2.02 firmware file or EEPROM for this machine, can't find it anywhere

Hello FunPC .... I'm having the same problem with mine. Version 1.05. Your version 1.06 and my version 1.05 requires replacing the eeprom chip in order to upgrade the firmware. The eeprom upgrade chip with the pre-burned 2.02 firmware is impossible to find . Do not attempt to upgrade your firmware file beyond your version 1.06 without upgrading the physical eeprom chip, as that will turn your 788 into an expensive paperweight. Just saying. You might have already done something about your issue, but if you haven't, go over to the 788 thread here where there's some discussion about it. Good luck.
