Tascam 00-8ex mixing problems

I have all of my tracks recorded but when I mixdown a loud ghost track appears on one of them. When I record over it a different ghost track appears on a different track. This happened after I mastered the song but didn't export it. I tried to mixdown and master it again but I kept getting loud ghost tracks playong over the real tracks. Does anyone know what this problem is and how I can solve it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's curious. I've not encountered it but can you say more about what exactly it sounds like and if there's any pattern to the type of track it appears on e.g. vocal, guitar etc?
