I'm working on a 234 that is in some funky state. Earlier today, the capstan motor I replaced was running, but the takeup reel was not turning. I was getting ready to debug when I noticed the record light was blinking. It no longer responded to PLAY or PAUSE, and the capstan motor stopped turning. I verified that all of the microswitches on the control PCB are working. I get ~7K ohms open, and <1 ohm when closed. I also tried completely removing the controls and the capstan motor still did not turn.
