Tascam 48 gain issues when in sync mode =(

Fairly new to this analog realm in general but wanted to see if anyone has had the same problem. My 48 has been spiking the gain whenever in sync mode randomly. Which had made it virtually impossible to get a clean take (especially after it has been on for some time). The sync light above the button flickers when this happens as well. thnx!

I have worked on many of these decks and from what I know you must have a loose connection inside or a card not seated well. There can be interactions between the cards and the motherboard. The 30 series motherboards had a lot of feed through problems and although these are higher up they are made the same way with wave soldering. I would be looking in the bottom of the unit with cards out to see if there are some bad solder joints. I often reflow or add Kester 44 to many of them when I have this problem. This problem is not common.
