Hi all,
I just bought a Tascam DR-05 recorder. It seems to be working fine, but the other day, I was recording ambience (or whatever you want to call it) while travelling in a train. The recording never went over -2 dB, but I heard some weird sound "interruptions", that I can only describe as a sort of clipping, when listening on the Tascam. It was also there when listening to the file in Audacity. Is this something you recognize?
I recorded in 16-bit WAV without any limiter/compressor.
I have attached a screenshot of the file when viewed in Audacity - the interruptions in question can be seen as flat lines. Here is a snippet of the sound file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3187541/tascampseudoclipping.wav
