DP 32SD
NOVICE ALERT (that would be me).... Is there a tutorial somewhere which shows the how and why of adjusting the effects parameters on the DP-32SD? I can get to them on the machine, I just don’t know what these parameters mean or why or when I would want to adjust them. For example, on the Delay effect, (type) stereo, panning, multi tap, what does that mean and why and when would I choose one over the other? What does pre delay, F/B delay, F/B level and return mean and when and why would I use them.

I don’t need anyone to answer my example above because my lack of knowledge on the matter goes way beyond just that specific example, I’m just trying to be clear on what I’m asking. What I need a link to a tutorial that would educate me on all parameters for all the effects on this machine. Thanks in advance for anyone’s help with this.

Check out the "cheat sheet" on line at dummies.com (publishers of the "XXX for Dummies" books):

Phil Tipping has authored an excellent video series and an effects tutorial specific to the the DP-xx. Both available free in this forum's sticky posts. He also has authored an excellent manual for the DP-xx.

This Home Recording e-book might be a good start for you:

Wow, ask and you shall receive! Good stuff Mark and David, thank you so much. This will keep me busy for a while. I’ve been all over the internet looking for info about this but found nothing with the exact nomenclature as the effects parameters on the Tascam or enough elementary explanation that I could understand. I did find a few things that will help and with a little bit of study I should get things figured out. But I struck gold with these links you guys turned me on to. Can’t thank you enough.

Accolades to both of you and to the fantastic work of Phil Tipping. His videos are invaluable and his step by step guide is a fantastic compliment to his video tutorials, well worth the cost. His excellent work took the deer in the headlights look off of my face from me reading the owner’s manual.
