USB-1800 won't play sounds other than DAW

Greetings!
My setup is as follows:

• Quad core PC running Windows 10, 16 Gb RAM
• Nuendo 4.6 plus expansion
• Tascam USB-1800
• Keystation 88 PRO controller

I have been using the unit for almost 2 years now, and I am quite happy with it. The only problem, is that occasionally I want to watch a tutorial video, a youtube video, or some other audio. It will ONLY play sounds coming from my DAW. I have already gone into Windows preferences and set the Tascam as the output unit, but still no sound. Any help?

hmm maybe there is an additional step on windows setup to select which outputs on the unit should be used. The stereo out on the tascam is mapped to outputs 1 and 2.
