Hello,

First of all, ... pls create sub forum for DA3000 only or add it next to title DV-RA1000 and DV-RA1000HD ...

So, for the moment I have 2 x DA3000 which I want to use for recording classic ensembles.
I Use 2 AEA 88 Mkii ribbon mics going via AEA500 preamp and then to my DA3000's.
The 2 DA3000's are linked to each other via SP/DIF so that they are synchronized (recording and playback).
Here's my question: do I need to use an external word clock generator (Tascam CG-1000) when I want to record in a synchronized way as described above?

Thanks for your advice.

Rgds,
Stef

According to this diagram from Tascam's website, it appears that an external word clock generator is required to sync 2 or more DA-3000's. Couldn't you use your DM3200 as the master clock?

Thanks for your reply !
Well, the thing is that I'm thinking about creating a "mobile" multitrack recording system.
So there is no issue in carrying a flight case with 2 x da3000, eventually a cg-1000, and 2 preamps + the 2 mics. The DM3200 is not heavy but is not something you can carry along like that. At home I could indeed clock it to the DM3200.
So I think I might need to purchase a cg-1000 then ... pffff ... expensive hobby .. :)

Cheers,
Stef
