Using earphones?

Hi all! I'm going on a trip and taking my Tascam. Since I have to travel extremely light I dont have space for headphones and wanted to see if I could use earphones to check the sound quality. I know its not ideal but maybe there are suggestions on how to make this work?

I would first want to be familiar with how the earphones reproduce similar audio that I already have and I know how it sounds on full headphones, speakers, etc. Instead of a technology answer, that's the first thing that comes to mind. Buying earphones the night before and having no baseline of their characteristics (loudness, bass response, highs, etc.) would sink me.

Agree with Art. It also depends on which Tascam machine you are using (you didn't say). If it already has a headphone socket the same size as the earphone plug, it will be ok to plug straight in. If the socket is a 1/4" and your earphones use a smaller 3.5mm plug, you'll need an adapter, but make sure you use a stereo adapter, not a mono one.
