When recording is it possible to use Varispeed? To get a specific effect recording an instrument/vocal at a slower tempo and after recording change the tempo back to it's original state. I think Pro Tools is the only DAW that's able to do this but I was wondering if the Portastudio is capable? Please advise....

DP24-SD cannot. I use the native plug-ins in Reaper to do such things. Stretch it out for slow, put it back for faster. I also use Reaper for pitch changes - one example, I recorded a mandolin part and moved the pitch up 1/2 step to avoid using a capo.
