I have been using a friend's 2488 MKII for a while. I liked it a lot and purchased a 2488 neo. I had been transfering files to and from the MKII via USB without problems. BUT when I try with the neo, the connection apparently initiates, shown by it's inclusion in list of ejectable media but any attempt to access the device results in an error, usually Device is unavailable.
I discovered that if I use a very short USB cable, then I can succeed in connecting and transferring files to and from the neo. This suggests some issue with the hardware. Of course I can live with the workaround using a short cable, but I'd rather fix the problem if I can.
I did try reformatting the FAT partition in case it was corrupted and causing grief, but that made no difference.
Any ideas?
