Complete nubie! Not getting anything recorded

I bought this unit dp 008ex last week spent time setting up with manual but nothing seems to work.I assigned my tracks and have been using Internal mics to start with.I turn the channel on and press record and play at the same time looks like it is recording but when i play back nothing comes thru head phones.Am i not doing something right?I screwed up in the begging and formatted the demo off my sd card so cant even listen to the demo song.tryed a couple different headphone but nothing.ANY help would be appreciated.

Make sure you have assigned the internal mics as your input, also look at inputs A & B, make sure your recording light is on, bring up the track level to get a good signal on meter, record, return to 0 or beginning of your recording, play £ set track and master levels to get a good meter level, set headphone level and you should get something, refer to quick start guide where needed. I have DP-03 but should be very similar.
