Posting to this forum once more as I've bought and tried the cable mentioned in an older post and shown below, in case anyone else with this Tascam (DR-05X) is also looking for a cable to transfer recordings from it to a Mac, I can vouch for this cable.
Hence, one end has the micro USB needed for this Tascam and the other end has the USB type C. So if, like me, your Mac has only USB type C ports, you can plug straight in and avoid having to try going via a Mac adapter hub which apparently can be problematic for this task.
(I bought the shortest one (50cm) from Amazon for £8.49.)
