DM-24 DA-88 DA-20
Hi

I have what I think is a good used DA-88

All transport functions are OK the machine seems in good condition

When I go to record from my DM-24 via TDIF direct

I switch to digi on the DA-88 then all the meters above the track arm switches ( which are in the armed record ready mode ) will go from min to max levels and keep on doing this up and down levels showing - even though no audio is actually going into the DA-88 ?

Does anyone know what this is ? Perhaps the machine is faulty after all..

Thanks

Verify both the Da-88 and Dm-24 are set to the same sample frequency. Do you using a real Tascam TDIF cable ? Some of the aftermarket cables were wired wrong, or people were using a generic ribbon cable wired incorrectly too.

Thanks wkrbee

I will look into that

I will check sample rate

The TDIF cable is not a Tascam cable - but is made by the company HOSA which I think is a quality brand and are selling many types of cables. They seem to have a decent reputation too

As I said if I select the record ready switch - the meter above starts to show max/min level
Immediately... This happen on all the tracks selected for record ready and in digital mode...

I will check the sample rate for both DA-88 and DM-24....

Thanks
Billr
