Dead channel on portastudio 464 (meter moves, but no sound)

hey guys!! trying to see if anyone has a potential solution to this! as the title says, channel 4 on my portastudio is broken-- the meter moves with signal, but i can't hear it.. i assume this means that the head is fine, but the output is somehow disconnected or shorted. i only noticed it very recently, so it must have happened over night or something.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

also note-- the xlr and line in level work!! this was noticed when i was trying to play back a tape and the fourth channel wasn't making any sound, but the meter was moving.
