Nice room, and the console desk really serves up the gear you want around those two cascaded -3200’s! Well done, looks like a nice open space.
And yep for the interface I also love those trusty FC-726/727 units (bottom 2 spaces of the visible outboard gear rack)… they are solid and reliable, clock very solidly when the setup is right, and seem so perfect for the DM profile, you (almost!) forgive the 1st edition 56ch MADI spec! I go to AVB (via MOTU units like you do) rather than Dante, but it is indeed a nice modern networked audio interface for these beloved DM hardware digital desks. To avoid the cost of custom Euphonix AES or TDIF 50pin cables I made 2 rack mount units that handle 4 streams each of TDIF db25/db50 conversion, and a set of ‘rowverser’ adapters for AES. It was a lot of work but fun and I learned a lot (one of my favorite parts of hardware audio engineering is the practical skills learning curve).
And on that note I’m glad not to see a huge DAW screen dominating the room - while DAWs are ubiquitous for sure, I also keep a hardware recorder, an x-48 mkII, used mostly as a 48-ch parallel recorder to the DAW just for the love of the RS-422 hardware recording profile

A second FC-726 serves the x-48 6 streams of AES to and from via AVB/MADI with its own FC-726, and I can leave it in 48-up recording mode in case I want the ‘fun’ of tracking to a Pentium based x-48

. Thankfully, the mkII is more stable than the mkI, but I don’t track the important projects on the x-48 these days given the limited capabilities of the x-48 overall. I serve the DM-4800 3 streams of AVB/MADI/TDIF and 4 streams of AVB/MADI/AES. I use a third FC-726 with 3 streams of TDIF for 24ch to and from the DM-24 ( I use it as an effects and guitars sub mixer) as well as 3 streams of AES for outboard digital effects and the seventh for the surround stream.
Magical boxes for the DM series, whether with TDIF or AES. Glad to see you making such great use of a similar approach in that gorgeous room.
Enjoy the room, and the music you make there on the desk!
