Hello ppl, i might say im and old user, but i really dont have much work hours on my desk because of personal problems...

I need some help in connecting my avalon pre with the console. Well i did the connection with the send/ret . I get sound in cubase and i can record mics (no problems here)
The thing is i want to use it as a comp/eq fx with the same connection for prerecorded tracks.
I got what i wanted but i think there is a better way to do it.

in cubase i have :
first ch with prerecorded signal sent prefader to stereo ch 15 - right wich is the SLOT 1- 30
second ch with the input stereo ch 15 -right with monitoring on.

on the insert on the desk i used aux 5 on the module. than from the aux 5 of the ch 54 sent a prefader signal to the avalon.

Just so I understand correctly:

1- You want to use an external preamp to record to Cubase
2- You have been successful in doing so using the DM-3200's Insert jack
3- You now want to route the material back through the external device

Is that correct?

1- You want to use an external preamp to record to Cubase

yes i did it, and have no problems/question about that.

2- You have been successful in doing so using the "DM-4800's" Insert jack

Im using the send / return for that not the insert,

3- You now want to route the material back through the external device

I want to use the eq and compressor from the avalon , with the send / return connections.

I did it and it works.

BUT as i said before, i think there is a simpler way of doing it, and would like to know it :)

anyone? just say if i did it right or it can be done faster and how. thnx
