I'm just wondering if 24/48 is going to be enough for the next 10 years. I realize there are literally 1000's of forum threads debating the subject, but I'm looking at this from the standpoint of uploading mastered tracks to all the aggregate sites through CDBaby and the like.

Also, I don't intend to mix and master my own work since my ears are gone and I can't really trust them. So this isn't about whether I can tell the diff - I can't - this is about sending my stems/tracks out to studios, and the environment/equipment they'll be working with.

Daniel, you give the Mastering engineer what s/he asks you for.

10 years from now doesn't matter. If you wrote and recorded records, they will still be hits out to infinity. You use the best tools at the time.

I mix and master at 24/48k in my studio. All those billions of CDs in the world are 16/44.1. It's the content that matters.

Thanks. maybe I'm overthinking it. I need to set this up right, which always makes me nervous when selecting equipment.
