In some recording configurations, the slate tone appears equal on all active tracks on the screen but when I bring in a recording of a particular track setting, the slate for one track is maxed to being off the top of the scale.
This is happening with
Channel 1 - Mic / Ext Stereo
Ch 2 - Off
Ch3 - Off
Ch4 - XLR/TRS, Mic & Phantom
Recording tracks as Mono tracks.
After some trials I found out that for other configuration it's balanced across tracks at the specified -12 dB. It's time consuming trying to figure out all the combinations possible to see what causes it. At least the audio being recorded seems OK until the slate appears but it's another puzzle with the DR-70D menu design. The way they've split settings is not intuitive and this is coming from someone who has been using a DR-40 for over four years.
Anyone run into this slate situation? My firmware is 1.15.
