FR-AV2
I've just switched from a Zoom H6n to a Tascam FR-AV2. I've previously used two Rode NT5 mics with the Zoom H6n. They are XLR connections and require 48v phantom power. They work fine with the Zoom.

I cannot get any input from them with the Tascam. I have set Phantom Power to +48v. I have set the Input to "LIne" as advised for XLR mic inputs. But I get nothing!

The manual is slightly confusing because it says it supports power but says this is not supported for TRS mics. TRS mics use the same Mic inputs as the XLR mics. Does this mean that the Tascam does NOT support power for XLR mics? If so I've just bought a paper weight. If XLR powered mics ARE supported how do I get the FR-AV2 to recognised input from my Rode NT5 mics?

The manual is incorrect in stating that for XLR inputs the input select should be set to LINE.

To support the Rode NT5 mics the following steps have to be taken:
Phantom Power has to be set to 48v in the Settings section.
In Input Settings, set INPUT to MIC which will then enable the Phantom settings for each channel (they are greyed out otherwise!). For stereo balanced NT5s set STEREO LINK to On and then turn on Phantom Power in Input Settings and it then works! Phew!

I just got my FR-AV2 and connected my Conica V02C via XLR and also getting no input readings.
I tried playing with settings, set both LINE and MIC - nothing on the recording, headphones or out ports.
Tried jacking TRS with my guitar as well. Same.
I am sure I am just missing something in settings. Any ideas?

I got mine working eeventually because it turned out there is a Phantom Power setting in two places and you have to turn it on aand set the voltage in one place, and then specify "Yes, this mic requires phantom power" in another. It is not at all intuitive and I think the manual is incomplete becaue it only talks about the main setting. If you're still struggling I'll try and find where the settings are but the menus are a real rabbit warren and I can't remember off the top of my head where they are.

Ok so I found first 2 thing you are taling about:
1. 48v thing is on the main menu i/o settings
2. enable phantom is on the input settings
3. "yes, this mic requires phantom power" - this one i have no idea where to look, but I'll explore

UPD: Ok so mic seems to be working, but now the quest is to set the second TRS guitar thing working! struggle goes on, but at least I figured out the mic
