"i/f error"

I have a DP008ex. I am not a stranger to digital recording or recording in general. I was recording tracks and I had 8 of the "I/F/ error" messages come up. I can't create songs like this. I know there is a fix for this but I can't open it because the downloaded compressed file format ( from TASCAMS website) is incomprehensible. TASCAM customer service is pathetic. they just do not respond to my inquiries. Does anyone out there have any input into this situation. I just hope I don;t have another piece of factory defective hardware from Japan. Their quality, on many levels, is very questionable.
