Before I go forward, this system used to work. We moved studios, now it no longer works.
I am recording audio for a live to tape tv show. The whole system is chasing a time code signal from the video server. The time code is sent to the DM-3200 (with meter bridge) the DM-3200 is seeing time code fine.

Now the tricky part. Using the IF-FW/DM mkII I used to be able to hook the FireWire cable to my Mac and logic would chase time code beautifully. As soon as time code started, logic would chase. When time code was stopped, logic would stop.

all firmware is up to date. Using the latest drivers.

I tried running a time code reader app. It too is not seeing time code come in to the mac. I tried this on my main Mac and my laptop. It seems that mtc is not leaving the DM-3200 (or the IF-FW/DM mkII card). Please help!

USB is for MTC. Did you forget to connect your DM3200 to your computer via USB?

There are actually THREE MTC ports.

  1. USB
  2. Physical midi out/ time code port in the back of the console
  3. An RCA style port - but that's for MTC In
Which one were you using? I remember for sure that the FW Card does not pass timecode.

Thanks folks... I'm a little embarrassed... I thought the USB was connected when it wasn't. After reading the replies I checked... boy is my face red!

Thanks folks

You're in good company; I dare anybody on this forum to say they haven't done at least one bone-headed maneuver since owning their DMs. Personally, I have an entire list. ;)
