Metronome issue, DP-32

I have a problem with the metronome on the DP-32. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Have tried REC only....REC/PLAY... modes. Why is this happening? I have checked the manual and followed instructions . Anybody else had this problem?

I have never liked built-in metronomes on recorders/DAWs. The sounds are usually not pleasant to play along with. I create my own click tracks using a drum machine so I can play to something that is not too annoying.
Even just a simple snare drum cross-stick is easy to play along with. If you know a tune is going to be a certain length (maybe 3 or 4 minutes), just record a click that long and then add your tracks.

Agreed - I tried the metronome on the DP-24 once, and it sounded like empty beer bottles being banged together. I make a click track of closed hi hat hits on the drum machine, and record that first, then build tracks (after a 2 bar count).
