Model 16 and Cubase 11 - Kills computer audio (driver issue?

(Windows 10) Cubase runs fine with Model 16, then going to listen to an mp3 or youtube while Cubase is open kills audio from the computer. You need to go and close Cubase and then standard computer audio comes back. This wasn't ever an issue with a previous interface. Computer audio always wants to use tracks 1 and 2... have tried assigning cubase outs to 11/12 but it makes no difference. Help ?
