Hello all, i feel like i should know the answer to this but never even thought about it before, a friend of mine has a tascam cd-rw900 cd recorder that only has unbalanced rca inputs and outputs is it possible to connect this to the model 24s balanced main outs with xlr to rca cables without doing any damage? Thanks Rob

MODEL 24 MAIN OUTPUT L/R jacks
Connectors: XLR
Nominal output level: +4 dBu
Maximum output level: +22 dBu
Output impedance: 100 Ω

TASCAM CD-RW900 Input Circuit
Unbalanced input RCA pin
Input level -10 dBV
Minimum input level -19 dBV
Input impedance 22 kØ ±10 %

There's a level mismatch Output ----> Input.
+4 dBu is 1.23 volts; +22 dBu is 9.75 volts.
-10dBV is .316 volts
The Model 24 can overdrive the CD-RW900 easily, Robin.

Looks like a good option.

It's AC powered, and the box seems tightly packed with all that electronics circuitry. So there's an off chance of 60 Hz hum pickup, I suppose, if the power supply circuitry isn't shielded properly from the rest. That would be my question for the pro shop sales person when you go to buy it.
