Monitor with FX but record without (dry.)

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Model 12. I've read a LOT about them, including the OM and watched countless online videos. In the interest of avoiding the "I assumed" trap, there's just one more thing I need to know. . . FX returns do NOT record. . . tracks are kept dry, right?

There are no FX returns on the Model 12.

Thank you. Yes, I get that nothing is labeled "FX Return" but the signals FROM the built-in FX can be routed to various BUSes. To me, this means we can choose TO or NOT to record those signals, right? (Sorry if I'm not completely clear with my questions.)

Don't own one of these FOH mixers, but the OM Block Diagram indicates FX when engaged return to the 2-Track stereo master recorder on the SD card.
