About to pull the trigger on a SD24 (Sd 32 seems to be gone).

Only gribe is I switch projects alot and with the analog faders that are not saved then setting volumes with recall is needed.

Is there other things not saved with the song ?

Can you use digital trim (if that is saved) on the channels and keep all faders at unity and then have easy recals ?

Kind regards from
Denmark :)

As far as I know, everything apart from the track faders, stereo fader, trim controls and monitor knob positions are saved, so digital trim settings will be saved.
I know a few people who use the digital trim trick to 'normalise' the track fader positions for convenience and for avoiding the lower part of the fader movement which has less resolution, although I would use caution as that gain setting is deliberately placed before the EQ and is the only method you have of avoiding overloading the EQ stage for hot signals from the sd-card and/or the insert(guitar) effect (the track fader comes after the EQ).

I record the fader levels in the mixer screen in an Excel file. This is relatively quick.
I wouldn't use the digital trim for this.

As an old-school K.I.S.S. devotee, I agree - just write it down. I keep track sheets for all projects (extensively discussed here on the forums); resetting faders to precise positioning when loading a project takes all of 8 or 10 seconds.

I miss Polaroid cameras :) snap a few photos of the knobs and settings, peel the track label tape strip off the board, stick it to plastic to tack it down, clip a few Polaroids into the track notes, and then pop the folder in the filing cabinet, or leave the track label strip hanging down on the wall of (in)famy :)

In the older days, it would be the tape snippets from the editing process left hanging on the wall :)
