My SX-1 has developed a new fault recently. When I turn on the SX-1, it starts going through the fader calibration process, and I get the introductory screens on both the built in screen and my monitor. But right around or right after the completion of the fader calibration, both screens go blank and nothing further seems to happen with the unit.
For a while I was still able to get it going by turning the unit off and on until it finally miraculously booted, but it is growing increasingly reluctant to boot up properly. I have tried using all the various function keys and panic button when booting but it still goes dead. If I hit F7 for BIOS SETUP, it asks me for a password I don't have (I bought it second hand several years ago). I also don't have a firmware CD to do diagnostics from. (Is an ISO of this available somewhere?)
Just this morning, there was yet another twist: The title graphics on my external monitor are rendering as blue instead of white!
I am also open to buying another used one if the price is right.
