I'm wondering if anyone might be able to offer advice.
I was running some test sine tones onto tape (a new reel Capture 914) , and I'm getting a strange broken up sound. This is at pretty much all levels. Example below:

Has anyone ever had this problem with their 38 before? I haven't, after quite a few years of recording...
