TASCAM Midistudio 688- Speed issue

Hi everyone,

I just changed the motor and the belt of my 688, but now the recording speed and playback is very slow. It seems the motor is turning too slowly and the pitch control knob has no influence.

For information, i replaced the original EG-530KD-2B, by a EG-500KD-2B, because a professional told me they have the same characteristics.

Could it be the problem? Or can i tweak something else?

Well then it is time to talk to that professional as some of them are not giving out good information. On the other hand the belt may be too tight or the settings on the motor not soldered on right if it is a 4 terminal motor. There have been some machines that need pitch control modification but that is when I used a different motor than the EG500KD-2B
