Upsetting experience

Yes... it re-calibrates when you run the fader tests, according to Tascam CS. If it DOESN'T, then it has a hardware problem. Is it under warranty?

DM-3200/DM-4800 Moving Faders are analog servo, no calibration required. If the faders aren't lining it, it's because of a component failure.

DM-24 had digital servo faders that can be calibrated through diagnostics (if I remember correctly)
SX-1 had digital servo faders that self-calibrated everytime on power up.

RedBus.

Thanks for clearing that up, RedBus. The CSRs were not so direct about it.

Werner, just in case you are newish to the forum, RedBus is the screen name for a Tascam engineer who works on the DM series. So, now you know, straight from the horse's mouth.

DM24 calibrates its faders everytime during startup.

My DM3200 is now 4 years old, besides an occasional vibrating fader, no problems regarding calibration. All lined up nicely.

I believe the Redbus response is the definitive answer on this thread.
