1641 and Windows 8

I'm on the bleeding edge with my computer, but I don't have the cash to upgrade my interface. Does anyone have the 1641 working in Windows 8? I can get windows to use the interface, but it doesn't present itself to my VST hosts (Cubase and VSTHost, separately).

Any ideas?

I did get it to work, but on my newer computer I get glitches after several minutes. This isn't a consistent problem and might be due to the number of keyboard controllers I have plugged into usb at this time. I'm getting a Behringer xr 18 in the next couple of weeks and I'm hoping for better results.
