2488 EXIT/NO button frozen after Error message during USB Export

Hi, I tried to move tracks into FAT partition for USB Export and received and error message saying to Start Auto Repair program. However, the EXIT/NO button is not doing anything and the unit is frozen.
If I do a hard shutdown, will I lose the tracks? These were SAVED prior to trying to Export .

How do I force the unit to Shutdown "safely"?

Tascam suggested turning off (without Shutdown procedure as it was frozen anyway) then rebooting. Tracks were still there! Yea!! Possibly problem occurred because the unit was in Slave mode , however, reformatting the FAT partition recommended as well. Everything appears to be good. Fingers crossed!
