Can I use DP-03SD cards in a DP-008EX?

I would like to buy a new Portastudio which needs to be able to read SD cards from a DP-03SD, but ideally would like a smaller machine.

Does anyone know whether the SD cards from the DP-03SD are readable in a DP-008EX?

Cannot confirm with tests, because I own only the DP-008EX. But I'm into a comparison and writing an article about the 2 INPUT Portastudios. Looking at those two specs and implementation details, it might be possible the song partitions are compatible. If not you will have to go the tedious export/import way. As I did for all my ongoing projects/songs from DP-008EX to DP-24.

It seems to work even between devices with different track count.

I had a response from the excellent customer service support person at Tascam Europe:

Yes, the DP-008EX can read SD cards and open recordings/songs made with a DP-03SD and vice versa.
The two devices share the same firmware and are very similar in their functions​
