I see several issues needing correction. Hopefully this will solve your problem.

1. PT-Transport screen: You have a metronome setting of 145BPM. But you have the 'Conductor' button enabled. This defaults our session to 120BPM which could cause a sync contention. SOLUTION: DISable the Conductor button if you wish to run your session at a defined BPM - in this case, ostensibly, 145BPM.

2. PT/Peripheral/HUI devices: None are defined!!! No wonder you have little - or no - comms between your mixer and PT. You must define HUI/Tascam/USB5 as one HUI portal (in/out) and HUI/Tascam/USB6 as the extension. This allows continual bank scrolling through your PT tracks. In order to access these parameters, you need to highlight one of those HUI boxes for each USB# portal, then scroll through the menu until you see: PREDEFINED. Then click on that option and you'll see 8 HUI/Tascam banks show up.

3. PT/Sync Screen: You have the TMC/midi set to 'ANY.' Instead, PREDEFINE this option as MIDI3. This is the default USB connection for TMC, in this case, being sent from the DM.

Once you correct all this, get back to us with the results. ALSO, check to see if you have the DM RECord key operating. In all likelihood, this will be UNAVAILABLE. If this is a problem, you need to set up a different set of parameters where PT sends MTC to DM, not vice-versa. That's another subject.

Finally, I didn't see a screen shot of your Session Screen. You may not need that if the foregoing helps get you running properly.

Keep us posted.

Cap,
I usually have predefined tascam 5 an 6 assigned in peripherals, I tried it this way but disabled it in case of conflict. I also have tried selecting the USB 3 for tmc, but I came across another forum that suggested any. None the less, I will try all of the suggestions at once.

Thanks again, updates will follow in a few minutes.

I might just have to call it quits here. I am beyond frustrated at the point. Same error.

I do not understand why it gives a bs error, if it would just give me an error code I can track down so I am not flying blind. Its a freaking guessing game at this point. I know you are on pt10 cap, I have no idea why it might be different but that is my only guess. I also wanted to mention that my record button on the dm3200 is disabled, so everything should be right.

Thank you this dude:

I got it to work, protools clearly just wanted to make a point and get me to give up. I have to manually change the start time of the session to get PT so sync. works like a charm now.

Freaking ay, thanks so much for helping out a stranger CAP. I really appreciate the input.

Glad to hear of your success. That's why I wanted a shot of your session file. That was the last resort; I suspected a start time conflict. This is closely related to Time Code; when PT's transport isn't receiving what it's set to expect, you'll get those nasty messages.

Carry on!
