I've just plugged an old Sound Canvas into the DP24SD and hit panic mode as everything, from the sound canvas input to the already recorded tracks were totally distorting on the monitor circuit. It all looked OK on the meters apart from the Canvas inputs. I was trying to record the stereo output onto separate tracks, if that's relevant.
In the end, I went back to basics, switched it off and on again and it all works fine. I noticed in the Phil Tipping manual he says to switch the unit off before plugging anything in, which I hadn't. Would this have caused the problem or do I need to worry about there be a fault on the unit?
