Hi Guys Trying to find out if anyone has experienced button issues. I 've looked in the forums for issues and or repairs but this was the only One I found. I have Dm-3200 I bought used. after doing diags these buttons failed.

My issue is this. I have 7 buttons that are not working:

1. Stereo (Right Side)
2. Mono
3. Ch 1-16 layer
4. Write
5. F1
6. F9
7. Rewind

I did a factory reset and the Stereo button and Layer buttons LEDs where lit. I pressed Aux 1 below it and it worked but when I pressed the stereo button again nothing happen. Same thing happen withe the 1-16 Layer button. Pressed 17-32 button then back and no go.

I have a feeling that the Stereo and Mono buttons are on the same buss. The same with 3-7. So I don't think the switches are bad. My first guess is that it could either be the harness, or the board assemblies. I'm just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue.. Your help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to take it to a Tascam service center. I would first try blasting those buttons with DeOxit to see if it a corrosion issue. They do tend to get sticky over the years.

Hi C Maffia

Thanks for the response. My first thought was bad switches. I ruled out bad switches due to the fact that After reset, the LED's would turn off and on when pushed. I just couldn't return back if I pushed another button. However;

After reading this Post:

The post had sound drop out issues the service guy there said something about pushing down the cables.
I thought why not. I broke open the mixer and pushed down on all the cables and connectors. put everything back together. Now the buttons are working. I talked to someone at Tascam he was nice enough to send me the service manuals. 1 and 2 are indeed on the same buss. The same with 3-7. Makes total sense to me now.

Congrats!

Love reading happy endings!
