If anyone like me has ever wondered why the mic gain is so low on the DP02 this is the answer (correct me if I am wrong): there are NO mic preamps in this machine. The mic input is the same as the line input and, is indeed of line input sensitivity, i.e. requires a line input voltage usually around 1v which is much higher than a mic output. At first I thought the XLR inputs were different to line input (thinking that the jack inputs were the line only)but not the case: these XLR inputs are line inputs. After going round in circles this is actually quite obvious as the rear switch setting refers to either guitar or line/mic. So you need an external mic preamp on this machine!
