DP24 Settings carried over to the new song - Reset to an unknown state

I talked w. Tascam, & played with the unit.
yes press SAVE.

1. Song 0001 eq'ed, assign, etc, partially mixed.
Press save.

2. Create new song ie: song0002
Do factory reset.
Now song0002 is ready to go.

Thanks all as well, took a lot of research.

Well, I hear you - and yes that will work. But for clarity's sake... that is not what I described above and this ignores the (good) idea of using a "factory reset template song".

And, just to be clear about this machine's save function... you can press the save button as often as you'd like (I do) - but when you power "Off" the machine it auto-saves all your settings for that song (and they will be there when you open that song again) whether you push the save button or not.:);)

And one other minor point about the factory reset - whether one uses a saved "template song" or not:

After a factory reset... when you go into the Assign screen, at the bottom, you'll see that all 8 inputs are already routed to the stereo bus by default. Might be just me - but that bugs a little. So I turn all 8 of those input-to-stereo bus routings off - and then save my reset song that way.
